The project comprised the demolition and replacement of the existing Bangor Academy and Sixth Form College on its existing site whilst the current school remained in operation. The works comprised the design and construction of co–educational accommodation for up to 1,420 Nr pupils (including 270 Nr in the 6th Form College), plus some 115 Nr teaching and administrative staff. External sports pitch provisions comprising synthetic hockey pitches, a grass pitch, a junior hardstanding pitch and the resurfacing of existing tennis courts were also part of the works.
