Construction of a State of the Art 4100m2 central decontamination unit located at the Royal Group of Hospitals. The facility prepares, sterilizes and cleans all surgical instruments for the hospital theatres and day procedure units and comprises of 12 washer/disinfectors, 9 sterilizers and 3 ultrasonic cleaners. The building was designed around the distinct building zones and the production processes. The site is at the gateway to the Royal Victoria Hospital and is a modern design incorporating quality landscaping and public realm finishes. The building was designed to give the Client maximum flexibility in terms of future proofing for expansion of the facilities, this required detailed cost appraisals being prepared for the structural and M&E services elements of the building to demonstrate the cost benefits to the potential future expansion.
